Do I need a permit to build a Vortex™®Pergola™?

Whether you need a permit to build a pergola depends on your location and the specific regulations in your area.

For example, in New South Wales, most Vortex™®Pergolas™ are classified as exempt developments, meaning they don’t require council approval, as long as they meet specific criteria:

Floor area is less than 25m²
Height is under 3m
Floor is less than 1m above ground level

However, larger models like the 4800XT™ (which exceed 25m²) or pergolas positioned less than 900mm from the boundary will require approval. Always check local council regulations to ensure compliance.
