Why choose a Vortex IKON?

Relaxation reimagined.

IKON from Vortex Spas is a spa pool like no other.

IKON spa is relaxation reimagined. Inspired by luxury marine and modern architecture, and driven by a burning desire to innovate, IKON is what happens when you start with a clean slate. All clutter is removed from the spa and the entire focus is on form, function and the experience.

Painstakingly designed from the ground up, with meticulous attention to detail, IKON is a rethink of how spa technology and modern living can come together for the ultimate in relaxation.

Vortex IKON, a spa pool like no other.

I can picture it in Queenstown, or equally, somewhere on the harbour in Sydney or Auckland – a loft in New York.

My ultimate location would be on a deck overlooking the water.”

Rethink seating

IKON takes a new approach to spa seating.

Recognising that people like to move around in the spa IKON's gently contoured Landscape seating allows you to sit naturally in many different positions. You are no longer restricted.
Whether you want to lie back, sit up, swivel around or cool off, you can easily move and adjust your body to the ideal level of immersion.

IKON Features

Spa deck inspired by luxury marine

IKON features a maintenance free Flexiteek deck, like those seen on super yachts. The deck provides space to sit or lie down, yet remain close to the action, as well as room for food, drinks and towels.

Architectural cabinetry with contemporary design cues

Aluminium composite cladding defines and highlights the striking angles of the exterior cabinet. Flush, screwless surfaces and negative detailing combine in this high performance and maintenance free cladding. IKON is available in either a Carbon or Cloud colour scheme.

Total control with a mood to suit yours

IKON's jets, lighting, water temperature and setup are fully adjustable using the built in touchscreen interface, or from your smartphone app. The Vortex app lets you control your spa mood settings.

Stylish Sunbrella® hardcover

Topside, IKON has a snugly fitted, folding hardcover made of high density insulating foam and secured to the spa by super yacht latch fixings. This stylish cover design is completed by a Sunbrella® fabric wrap, a premium, marine grade covering used on luxury outdoor furniture on super yachts.

Landscape seating redefines spa comfort

IKON has gently contoured landscape seating that allows you to sit naturally in multiple positions. Whether you want to lie back, sit up, swivel around or cool off, all are easily possible in IKON.

Discreet hydrotherapy jets

IKON brings new levels to spa comfort. Every single hydrotherapy jet in IKON is discreetly located where it will offer maximum relief with minimal intrusion.

Floating steps complement design

Even getting in and out of your IKON spa has undergone a major makeover. No longer an afterthought, removable, floating steps project from the spa cabinet and feature a slip proof Flexiteek surface that complements the deck.

Energy Efficiency

Consumption at rest

Intelligent thermal tuning

Vortex Spas use AI (artificial intelligence) software to measure and learn from individual spa usage and operational patterns.

This technology then adjusts heating cycles to minimise energy use, which can save up to 20% of the usual heating costs. Water temperature drops can be limited to within 0.2 degrees of your set temperature.

High density
Sunbrella® high density lockable cover

Because heat rises, most of the heat lost from your spa will be through the cover. The high density, Sunbrella® lockable cover is 50% denser than most other covers available on IKON.

It uses 24kg/m3 insulation so heat loss is minimised and further reduces costs associated with heating the water.

Premium multi-layer insulation

Heat loss also occurs through the side of the spa shell, cabinet and base.

To reduce this heat loss as much as possible IKON is fitted with multiple layers of insulation. Each element is designed for a specific area with a dedicated purpose.

When any maintenance is required the insulation system can be easily removed.

Arctic pack insulation*

Vortex Spa’s optional Arctic pack insulation is the ultimate level of insulation available. It increases the thickness of the perimeter insulation to 50mm and gives unsurpassed heat retention and the lowest possible running costs.

This system dramatically lowers heat loss and remains removable for easy spa maintenance. It is also extensively used on Vortex Spas sold in very cold regions such as Scandinavia and Canada.

Water Cleaning

Water Cleaning Technologies

Purezone UV sterlising system

Vortex led the market in using UV (ultra violet) light purification in spas and swim spas.

High intensity, UV lights are used to kill viruses and bacteria in the water. Over time, Purezone UV can deliver a 99.9% kill rate. The Purezone UV sterlising system is a given if water cleanliness is an important priority.

Purezone CD ozone water clarifying system

The CD (corona discharge) ozone water clarification system keeps water clean and clear 24/7 by destroying organic material.

It uses ozone technology to oxidize and remove micro organics and metals that are smaller than 5 microns resulting in the clearest water available and reduces the need for additional chemical use.

Build Quality

Shell construction
Thermobond shell construction

Vortex Spas use a 4 layer thermobond shell construction in the manufacturing of all of their spa shells.

The first layer is acrylic which gives the spa its colour. This is backed by a water proof, vinyl ester resin, marine grade polyester resin, which adds torsional strength, and, finally, a polyceramic layer which adds rigidity.

The shells are oven cured to ensure the correct bonding of the various layers. This is a crucial step that is missed by most manufacturers due to its additional cost.

Flexible PVC Plumbing

In order to eliminate the chance of kinks in the plumbing and to prolong life, Vortex Spas use a flexible PVC plumbing material called Duraflex.

This is a flexible tubing that incorporates a spiral of rigid PVC. Unlike the tubing used by many manufacturers, Vortex Spas Duraflex plumbing is specifically designed for hot, chemically treated water and carries a 5 year no leak guarantee.

Timber-free 'no rot' Permaframe

Traditionally spa pools have used timber frames which can be susceptible to rot, mildew and vermin damage.

The Vortex IKON Permaframe is constructed from galvanised steel to give you years of trouble free spa ownership.

It is designed to last indefinitely and has a Lifetime warranty.

Vermin Proof Base

Vermin, snakes and rodents love the underside of spas as it is warm and dry. To repel unwanted visitors, IKON features a sealed vermin proof base and cabinet design.
